The Nutrition and Food Science Program offers a wide range of academic coursework that can prepare students for employment or entry into graduate or professional schools. Concentrations within the major include Nutritional Sciences, Food Safety and Nutrition, Nutrition and Fitness, and Dietetics and Nutrition Management. Coursework in Nutrition and Food Science includes core science-based courses, theoretical and practical training in specific skill areas such as nutrition counseling techniques, food safety, integrative nutrition and metabolism, and nutrition and the lifecycle.
ALL new students in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition are required to meet with their Academic Success Coordinator within two weeks of the start of their first semester and once a semester thereafter.
